The meeting discussed and approved nearly 300 food additive use regulations for 15 food additives, guidelines for the use of food spices, and processing aids. These results will be submitted to the 31st Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission for adoption in July this year.


        Chen Junshi said that the General Standard for Food Additives is an important international standard of the International Codex Alimentarius Commission and plays an important role in coordinating the use of food additives in international food trade. Under the auspices of China, the participating members reached a number of consensus on the formulation of international food additive standards, which is helpful for the integrated development of international food additive standards and is also important for China to integrate domestic food additive standards with international standards. significance.


        It is reported that the 40th meeting of the International Codex Committee on Food Additives is the second time that my country is the host country of the International Food Additives Codex Committee. 245 representatives from 65 member states and organizations of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Health Organization and the International Codex Alimentarius Commission attended the meeting.
